Crazy Sista Cooking.

Lucy Buffett signing another cookbook. I picked up several for my friends and family. This is a great book! It has some great stories in the front and some awesome recipes for food and drink throughout the chapters. The front of the book is full of real life adventures from Lulu and all of her friends and family. I remember when many of these things were happening and it seems like only yesterday I was tuned into readiomargaritaville listening to her tell about some of these events. It is so cool that she has written these moments into a book to pass along to others. She is such a character and a very wonderful person. Trust me you will enjoy this treasure. Go get a copy now.

Hal rocking on stage. OK so next time I will get a great picture of Jimmy Jr. His guitar playing is very awesome and all my pictures of him were blurred due to the fact he was moving all the time on stage! You guys all rock.

More Jimmy & the Parrots!

More Jimmy and the Parrots!! I really like how this drummer takes his show to the audience. Check this one out. Lance is playing it right to the front row. Fun stuff. Great showmanship.

Jimmy and the Parrots Rock!

Jimmy Maraventano and Jimmy Maraventano Jr. on the right. http://www.jimmyandtheparrots.com/
This band is very high energy. They rock from the first song to the last. They never stop. They make old people young again. They take the stage and they make it their own. I have seen them in Key West I have seen them in Alabama. It doesn't matter where they show up the crowd just cannot be still. It is hard to take a decent picture of them. they NEVER stop moving! They never stop jamming! They love it when you jump on stage and sing one with them if you dare! This band is not to be missed. I love 'em.

This was some real fun around the pool right on the beach. These people will keep you entertained!

Flora Bama!!

After leaving New Orleans the next stop was the Redneck Riviera. A place I really love. Our base camp was on the beach in Orange Beach at the Island House. After dropping the gear our rather large gang headed to the Flora Bama for a night of fun and music.

"Bama Breeze" indeed. http://www.lulusathomeport.com/vids/bamabreeze/

To coin a phrase that sums up how I feel..."Good god I feel at home down there."

Been too long....

It's been too long since I have been to New Orleans. I have been very busy the last few weeks with all my other interests and just have not had time to add new material to this blog....well it's catch-up time!
I was just in New Orleans for a quick visit. I saw one of my old friends and spent some time soaking up the french quarter ambiance. It was the first time I had been down since "the storm." I was amazed at the damage and lack of progress to get back to normal especially on the north side of town. The downtown areas looked relatively normal. It was the residential areas and north of town that really look rough, even now. wow...they need our help down there. Plan yourself a trip and go visit. NOLA is still a great place. The food is wonderful, the music is awesome, and I can never get enough of the atmosphere there.
