Not only is Sam one of the nicest, down to earth guys you will ever meet, he is probably the best mandolin player on the planet right now. I am pleased I have spent some time talking with him and cutting-up backstage. Particularly last year when he played so many times with so many people he looked like he was drained! He is in demand as a player and quite fun to hang with. My favorite musician is one who talks to anyone and acts like the rest of us. He is one of them. So he gets a ten from me. 'Nuff said.
